Camilla Belle Routh was born in Los Angeles, California to Cristina Routh, a fashion designer and Jack Routh, the owner of a construction company. Belle's mother is from Santos, São Paulo, Brazil and she was named after a Brazilian actress's character in the soap opera Cavalo de Aço. Camilla was raised in a Catholic household, and attended St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School and then transferred to the Leuzinger High School, an elite all girls school in Los Angeles. She has dual US-Brazilian nationality.
Camilla landed her first national commercial at the age of 9 months old. At age 5 she was cast in as a lead in her first film, NBC's thriller, "Trapped Beneath the Earth".Belle began her career with a small role in the film production of the novel A Little Princess costarring Liesel Matthews. Her first lead role was in Rip Girls in 2000, a Disney Channel original movie. After taking some time out of filming, she came back with the lead role in the remake of When A Stranger Calls. Her next role was in the feature film 10,000 BC, directed by Roland Emmerich, a film about prehistoric humans. Camilla Belle recently was in the "Lovebug" video by the Jonas Brothers which premiered on the Disney Channel. Belle's next big release was playing the role of Kira Hudson in Push, a sci-fi thriller involving a group of young American ex-pats with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities, hiding from a clandestine U.S. government agency.
Belle lives with her parents and her grandmother Deborah. She has three Miniature Pinschers named Tokya, Keiki, and Evolet, which she named after her character in 10,000 BC. Belle, an aspiring classical pianist, speaks fluent Portuguese (her mother's native language), as well as Japanese.
Belle is proud of her Brazilian heritage and considers Brazil her favorite place in the world. She learned how to speak Portuguese at her mother's insistence and reports to live, along with her parents, in a "totally Brazilian" home.
She has been involved in various charities and is an international spokesperson for Kids With A Cause which assists children suffering from poverty, hunger, lack of education, neglect, or abuse. She is the face of Vera Wang's "Princess" fragrance. . Belle is good friends with Robert Pattinson and more actors
